Predicting what the next Xbox and PlayStation will look like and future is exciting and historic moments for the gaming industry. The cancellation of Sony and Xbox from gaming events to announce their plans and also having their game studio teams work from home are adding delays to one of the biggest launch holiday seasons in gaming history. The Xbox One X and the PS4 are already systems that can produce 6 and 4 teraflops. The Xbox Series X has 12 teraflops and the PS5 will have 10.28 teraflops which is about double the power of last genreation. What does that mean it means they are capable of producing up to 4K quality games with 60 frames per second? It means smooth gorgeous gameplay. Now this has been not the case with the last generations where because the systems are capable does it mean the games and developers will deliver or can deliver that amount of power per game due to various factors such as publisher requirements. We have seen sad stories where vicious games are in the works then a publisher can drop the title if it feels that it wont hit sales expectation, as we seen with Scalebound which was a promising Japanese exclusive for Xbox One which got canned unfortunately due to business disagreements from publisher Microsoft and developer Platinum Games. However there are some rumors going on that it may be back. we can hope at least.
The expectation is we as consumers are about to shell out a lot of cash to get the next Xbox and Playstation systems. Due the global epidemic we are going through, it will slow down mass production of these consoles to be ready for the holiday of 2020. Since there is already large demand due to it being around the holiday expect shortages. The PS5 and Xbox Series X will likely be priced at $499-$599 price range so time to save some lunch money.
Until the big launch, check out our games and get to playing.
